Serras Hotel is situated at the yacht harbor, Marina Port Vell, located at the southern end of the Gothic Quarter. The building housed Picasso’s first studio in 1896. There are 28 rooms and suites, including family rooms. Many of these large, airy rooms have terraces that overlook the Mediterranean. This is an elegant and modern 5-star deluxe hotel, beautifully run, with an Italian manager and team who have worked at many London hotels, including the Bulgari and the Dorchester. The restaurant, El Informal, is overseen by Michelin-star chef Marc Gascons, who brings fresh, Catalan-style cooking from land and sea to this fun dining space. The rooftop has a cocktail bar, restaurant and pool with views over the sea and the yacht harbor; it is a delightful setting for a light meal of Spanish specialties, also overseen by Chef Gascons. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathroom in every room has double sinks, a tub and a walk-in shower. Their rooms come with the latest state-of-the-art technology, including a smart HD TV and wireless sound system. Serras Hotel is a special place and attracts a sophisticated European crowd. It is in the Gothic Quarter, and close to the Born area and Las Ramblas. For those who are members, Soho House is a short walk away.
