This Heritage Hotel is sister to the Hotel Orfila and is housed in a handsome 20th-century listed building. A member of the Relais & Chateaux group, the hotel is in a residential area in the northern part of the Salamanca District. The street runs at right angles to Claudio Coello and Serrano, and the main shopping streets in the area are a short walk. The American Embassy is at the end of the street. Museums are a 30-minute walk, or a very inexpensive 8-minute taxi ride. Many of the team from Orfila is at The Heritage, including two-Michelin-star chef Mario Sandoval who oversees the attractive restaurant, which opens onto the street. There are 46 rooms, and many of the rooms have walk-in showers. All the junior suites and suites have double sinks. Bathrooms are bright and many of them have natural light. Many of the rooms have balconies, and since the hotel faces south and west, there is a lot of sunlight. This may be one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in in Spain, and all the beds in all rooms can be twinned. There are five family rooms offering deluxe or junior suites, connecting to a classic room, and a nice two-bedroom suite with a sitting room. There is a bar on the ground floor, and another on the 7th floor in a pretty garden terrace. A sun deck on the 8th floor provides sunbeds, a shower and comfortable shady places to have a siesta or read.
