The Hotel Orfila is housed in a 19th-century building, located on a quiet, secluded street in a fashionable residential district just a short walk from Colón Square and the main museums of Madrid. A member of the Relais & Chateaux group, this charming five-star hotel retains a classic style of old Europe with some beautiful 18th- and 19th-century antique furniture, tapestries and paintings. There is a charming award-winning restaurant, which is a quiet oasis and looks onto a fountain and a pretty mosaic-filled garden, which is perfect for outdoor dining in summer time. Formally attired staff provide discreet but attentive service. There is a cozy cocktail bar and a warm welcome at the front desk. The 32 rooms and suites are spacious and quiet, and many rooms and suites connect and are suitable for families. Bathrooms are modern, several with double sinks and walk-in showers. This is a family-owned and -run hotel. Verónica Garcia Castelo, daughter of the owner, is the general manager and keeps a close eye on everything. This is an ideal hotel for those looking for traditional European style. The hotel restaurant is overseen by a two-Michelin star chef, Mario Sandoval, who gained his first Michelin star when he was just 26 years old.
